- About Us
Bob Burge, son of Martha (Stafford) and Boyd Burge, was born June 5, 1933 in Wamego, Kansas and departed this life of 85 years on Saturday, July 21st at Belleville Health Care Center.
Bob grew up in the Republic County area and attended a rural Republic County school as a young man. He was united in marriage to Vera Yvonne Garman on November, 28th, 1950, in Belleville, Kansas. To this union three children were born, Pat, Jana, and Vic.
From a young age Bob was committed to the rural way of life and the concept of living off the land. He worked in many areas connected to agriculture including farming, contracting/operating heavy equipment, owning and operating a trucking business and always enjoying any chance he could to be outdoors hunting or at a local pond or river fishing. One joy that many did not know in Bob’s life was his love to play Santa or Santa’s Helper during the holiday seasons on a mobile sleigh and bring happiness to all children.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Vera, his parents Boyd and Martha Burge and four sisters.
Left to celebrate his life are his children: Pat and husband Randy Rodie of Jamestown, Kansas, Jana and husband Paul Chase of Republic, Kansas, and Vic and wife PJ Burge of Lemoyne, Nebraska.
