Arlene M. (Poppe) Bohling, Chester, Nebraska. Arlene passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 78 years, just one day before her 79th birthday. She was born on October 14, 1936 in Chester, Nebraska to Walter Poppe and Marie (Ehlers) Poppe. She attended school in Chester, Nebraska. On December 25, 1955, she married Loren Bohling of Byron, Nebraska at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Byron. She lived the majority of her life in the Byron and Chester communities. The couple was blessed with four children: Denise and Diane (twins), Ryan, and Lisa.

Arlene spent her life as a homemaker. She will be remembered for her involvement in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Byron, Nebraska and for her talents with sewing, quilting, crafting, and woodworking. She lived a life of faith and service to others, as shown by her willingness to use those talents to create keepsakes not only for friends and family within her own community, but also for church outreach projects worldwide. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. She touched many lives with her kindness and generosity of both time and talent.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 59 years, Loren Bohling, their 4 children: Denise Schoenrock and husband Mark of Diller, Nebraska, Diane Borrell and husband Dan of Grand Island, Nebraska, Ryan Bohling and wife Jenelle of Byron, Nebraska, and Lisa McDermott and husband David of Fremont, Nebraska. Grandchildren include: Christine Schoenrock Grayson of Provo, Utah, Nikki (Ray) Keller of Spring City, Utah, Sarah (Josh) LeMonte of Newark, Delaware, Jeremy (Kim) Borrell, of Hastings, Nebraska, Emily (Cole) Carpenter of Omaha, Nebraska, Zachary (Megan) Bohling, Trenton and Samantha Bohling of Byron, Nebraska, Abigail Bohling of Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as Brynne and Keira McDermott of Fremont, Nebraska. Great Grandchildren include: Avery and Jaden Smith, and Ivan and Maia Keller of Spring City, Utah.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marie Poppe, as well as brother Robert Poppe, sister Lenetta Poppe, grandson Nathan Borrell, and great granddaughter, Sloane LeMonte.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Byron, Nebraska on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:30 AM, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Byron, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Byron, Nebraska
