Billie Joyce Elwood was born September 23, 1927 at Belleville, Kansas to William and Clarissa (Easterley) Polley. She passed from this life Wednesday, June 12, 2013 while a resident of the Long Term Care facility in Belleville at the age of 85 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. Billie attended the Belleville schools and graduated from Belleville High School with the Class of 1946. After graduation she attended Brown-Mackie College in Salina, Kansas majoring in Cosmetology. Other than a few years, Billie spent her life in the Belleville community. She enjoyed music and dancing and even taught tap dancing. She also enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. She worked as a nursing assistant for many years. Billie will be forever remembered by her sons, Eric and wife Tena of Belleville and Jim and wife Linda of Reynolds, Nebraska; and her grandson Ethan Elwood also of Belleville. Graveside services and burial was held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Belleville City Cemetery.
