Billy Earl Kelly, son of Earl and Allahlee (Mosier) Kelly, was born in Republic County , Kansas on May 27, 1927. He passed from this life Monday, August 30, 2010 while a resident of the Belleville Health Care Center . He was 83 years of age. Billy attended grade school at Prairie Rose, Bo Camp, and Grace Hill. He graduated from Belleville High School . Billy served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a communications officer with the 4 th Infantry Division stationed in Germany . Following his discharge, he returned home and began farming. He also served as a deputy sheriff for the Republic County Sheriff's Department for around 28 years. Billy was united in marriage to Ilene (Boyer) Blackburn-Zukowske on August 5, 1977. Billy was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law Lyle Elliott. Billy will be forever remembered by his wife Ilene of their home; step-children Marcia Hendricks and husband Tom, Reading, Kansas, Marlene Skipton, Belleville, Kansas, Mary Elliott, Haddam, Kansas, and Mark Zukowske and wife Dianna, Concordia, Kansas; grandchildren Tia Collins and husband Trey, Larz Elliott and wife Jessica, Michael Hendricks, Ashley Hughes and husband David, Kashaya Zukowske, Tamika Nutsch and husband Cory, and Kaden Elliott; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas. Burial will be in the Belleville City Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Billy Kelly Memorial.
