Charles Eugene Lundblade, 82, of Courtland, Kansas, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1943, in Concordia, Kansas, to James “Jim” and Mildred (Rathbun) Lundblade.
Charles graduated from Courtland High School in 1961 and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Fort Hays State University. He spent his career teaching in several Kansas communities, including Lincoln, Courtland, Esbon, and Mankato.
In 1965, Charles married Linda Carnes, and to this union a son, Robert, was born. They later divorced. In 1972, Charles married Pat Lane, and together they welcomed a son, Adam.
After retirement, Charles enjoyed self-taught flint knapping, participating in 1860s reenactments as a Mountain Man, and pheasant hunting.
Charles is survived by his wife, Pat of Courtland, KS; his sons, Robert (Abby) Lundblade of Olsburg, KS, and Adam (Dawn) Lundblade of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Makayla (Joseph) Dobrawa, Nikki (Jordan) Young, and Coleman Lundblade; and great-grandchildren Nicholas Dobrawa and Mahala Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mildred, and his brother, Carl Lundblade.
Family and friends may sign Charles’s register book on Monday, August 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials are requested to Republic County EMS and Rescue or the Courtland Rural Fire Department, and may be mailed to Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, PO Box 566, Belleville, Kansas 66935.
