He passed from this life Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Belleville, Kansas at the age of 81 years. Clyde was raised in Haddam and graduated from Haddam High in 1946. He attended one year at Emporia State Teachers College and then returned home to work with his father at the Mobil Service Station "Bobbitt's Oil Co." in Haddam. He purchased the station when his father died and opened another station in Washington, Kansas. Bobbitt Oil Co. had been in operation for over 60 years when Clyde sold the company in the mid 70s.
