Connie Sue Woodward, age 56 of Belleville, Kansas passed away February 12, 2026.
Connie was born July 4, 1969, in Washington, KS to her parents Delvin K. Woodward (Donna) and Velma M. Cornett (Roger). She had three siblings: Todd (Angie) Woodward, her “firecracker twin” Ronnie (Debbie) Woodward and Eric (Buffy) Woodward. She gained 7 step siblings: Donna (Tom) Moravek, Dana (Leland) Loy, Rick Dulaney, Carl (Stacy) Dulaney, James Cornett, Michelle Cornett and Roger D. Cornett Jr.
Connie attended and graduated (Class of 1987) from the Washington County School District in Washington, KS. After graduation she met the love of her life and common law partner, Clint Owens and was together until his death in December 2002.
Connie spent 17+ years serving as a CNA, CMA and PT nurse before leaving the field and working as a custodian for the USD 449 and USD 109 school districts until she retired to take care of her mother. Connie loved spending time with her cats Meeka and Little Bit, loved seeing friends and family, and supporting her daughter Hannah’s many endeavours.
Connie is survived by her daughter Hannah, father Delvin Woodward, siblings Todd (Angie) Woodward, Ronnie (Debbie) Woodward, Eric (Buffy) Woodward, Donna (Tom) Moravek, Dana (Leland) Loy, Rick Dulaney, Carl (Stacy) Dulaney, Jimmy Cornett and Roger Cornett Jr., mother in law Donna (David) Owens, brother in laws Davey (Gina) Owens, Frank (Shelly) Owens and Tony (Ann) Owens, sister in law Krystal (Mike) Taylor, multiple nieces and nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her common law husband Clint Owens, mother Velma Cornett (Svanda), step mother Donna Woodward, step father Rodger Cornett, father in law David Owens, sister in law Gina Owens, sister in law Debbie Owens, aunt Carla Svanda and uncle Jim Svanda, uncle Chuck Svanda, uncle Bob Svanda, cousin Randy Hitchcock and a multitude of other friends and family.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Main St. Tabernacle church in Belleville, KS from 10 a.m.-Noon with a service immediately following after. A small lunch will be served following funeral services at the church as well.
Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
