Dale Barrett

April 4, 1917 — June 15, 2015

Dale Franklin Barrett, 98, was born April 4, 1917, in Belleville, Kansas, to Bert & Ruth (Daggett) Barrett.  He passed from this life Monday, June 15, 2015 in Northglenn, CO.  Dale attended the Belleville public schools, where he graduated in 1935.  He just celebrated his 80 th year since graduation.  On May 29, 1937, he married Josephine M. Collins in Seneca, Kansas.  Josephine preceded Dale in death in 2008.  They lived most of their married life in Belleville, where they raised their four children:  Melanie, Patrick, Michele and Bradley.  He was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church of Belleville. Dale served in th United States Army during World War II in Germany.  Dale was a meat cutter by trade, working for Safeway and later owning the Belleville IGA.  Before retirement, he worked for the State of Kansas as a meat inspector for 12 years. Dale will be forever remembered by his children, Melanie Huff and husband Mike of Westminster, Colorado, Patrick Barrett and wife Devra of Bronxville, New York, Michele Childs of Larkspur, Colorado, and Bradley Barrett and wife Alneata of Lawrence, Kansas; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; sister Anita Larson and husband Bob of Scandia, KS; other relatives and a community of friends.  Memorial services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, Kansas with Pastor Robert Frasier officiating.  Inurnnment will be in the Belleville City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Bellevillle Presbyterian Church or Crossroads Assisted-Living facility, 451 Malley Drive, Northglen, CO 80233. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas assisted the Barrett family with these arrangements. Dale's wishes were for cremation services; but family and friends may sign register book on Friday July 10 from 9am to 5pm at the funeral home.
