Darreld Spear

Darreld Duane Spear, age 86 of Concordia, Kansas was born April 24, 1930 at Scottsville, Kansas to Floyd A. and Edna Alma (Rees) Spear. He passed from this life Monday, February 27, 2017 at Belleville, Kansas. He graduated from Jamestown High, Jamestown, Kansas, in 1948. Darreld married Lila Hilda Volsteadt in South Dakota in 1953. They lived near Jamestown and raised seven children: Donald, Mary, Gail, Linda, Joel, Mark, and Delila. Lila died in 1983 and several years later he married Charlotte Stanley. She died in 2007. Throughout his life, Darreld was a farmer, truck driver, and welder. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lila Spear; second wife Charlotte Spear; and his son Donald. He will be forever remembered by his children, Mary (Harry) Riley, Concordia, Gail (Rich) Huffman, Nelson, Nebraska, Linda (Gary) Walker, Belleville, Joel (MaDonna) Spear, Jamestown, Mark (Kelli) Spear, Concordia, and Delila (Steve) Mendenhall, Culver, Kansas; 19 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Direct cremation services were chosen. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Crossroads Assembly of God in Belleville, Kansas with the Revs. Rick & Ellie Snodgrass officiating. Family inurnment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the family’s choice to be designated later. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas assisted the Spear family with these arrangements.
