Doyle Glen Crouse, son of Melvin Willard and Ilo Opal Fraley Crouse, was born May 25, 1942, near Chester, Nebraska, and died July 2, 2012, in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 70 years. He attended Chester public schools and graduated from Chester High School in 1960. Doyle was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Heitkotter on December 29, 1963, and to this union two children were born. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Herbert J. Thomas from 1961 to 1967. In 1971, he graduated from California State University (Long Beach) with a degree in secondary education, industrial arts. He taught high school industrial arts, automotive, and electronics classes at El Modena High School in Orange, California. Doyle moved his family to Belleville in 1977 and that year opened Crouse Tire & Wheel. His interests and hobbies included dirt track racing (especially sprinters), trap shooting, and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Mach, and brothers-in-law Wilbur Mussmann and Bruce Wurtz. He will be forever remembered by his wife, Beverly Crouse of Belleville, a son, Chad D. Crouse (Terese) of Wichita, a daughter, Christine E. Crouse-Dick (Christopher) of Newton, a sister, Eleanor Mussmann (Jim) of Lincoln, Nebraska, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the Central Christian Church, Belleville, followed by a graveside service at the Chester City Cemetery, Chester, Nebraska with Pastors Josh Knaub and Mark Imel officiating. Memorials may be made to the Landmark Church Building Fund or to the Belleville High Banks. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas was in charge of these arrangements.
