Visitation:  Saturday - 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm; Sunday 12:00pm to 8:00pm

Eugene Arlen "Geno" Sederlin, youngest son of El Reno F. and Thelma E. (Thompson) Sederlin was born September 6, 1932 in Concordia, Kansas and died at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville, Kansas on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 11 days. Eugene attended country school in the younger grades and graduated from Scandia High School with the Class of 1950. He joined the United States Navy on February 4, 1952 and served active duty for four years during the Korean Conflict. During his military time he crossed the Pacific Ocean three times to Korea, served on three carriers and one cruiser CA-75. He served along with his older brother, Ray, aboard the USS Oriskany in Korea, CVA Carrier with the VF-124 Fighter Squadron for a year. He was united in marriage to Iris A. Kasl in 1953 and to this union six children were born: Douglas K., Bruce A., Linda L., Robert E., Steven H., and Richard E. Geno was united in marriage to Ruth A. (Radice) Brattin on June 12, 1976 and to this union a daughter, Lisa Anne was born. Geno loved farming, hunting, fishing, boating, camping, watching sports, wood working, and coin collecting...but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren...always the highlight and pride of his life. He was a 58 year member of the Masonic Lodge, and enjoyed many years as a Shriner. He also served as a council member for the City of Courtland. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Ray. Geno will be forever remembered by his wife Ruth Anne of their home; sons Douglas and wife Betty Jo of Belleville, Kansas, Bruce of Scandia, Kansas, Robert and wife Cindy of Grand Junction, Colorado, Steven and wife Renee of Courtland, Kansas, and Richard of Kalispell, Montana; daughters Linda Pounds and Lisa Isaacson and husband Eric of Courtland, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; other relatives and a community of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 21, 2013 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas with burial in the Courtland Cemetery. Masonic Rites were conducted Courtland Lodge No. 211 A.F. & A.M. and Military Honors were conducted by the US Naval Guard, Wichita, Kansas.
