A ROSARY WILL BE HELD FOR EVELYN WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 2015 AT 10:00 AM AT THE FUNERAL HOME. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE OF COMMITTAL WILL FOLLOW THE ROSARY AT ST. GEORGE'S CEMETERY RURAL MUNDEN, KANSAS.

Evelyn Georgia Flaska was born February 17, 1926 on a farm near Munden, Kansas, the daughter of Oscar and Mary (Chopp) Homolac. After graduating from Munden High School and Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, she worked as a secretary in Frank G. Spurney’s Law office in Belleville. In 1947 she married Edward Flaska and they had one daughter JaNeane Karyl. The family moved from their farm near Narka, Kansas to Bloomington, Indiana where Edward went to school on the GI Bill, and then on to Wichita where he was employed by Boeing and Cessna Aircraft. Evelyn lived in Wichita for 58 years. Primarily a homemaker, Evelyn was also an Avon Lady, a long-time volunteer at the church of the Magdalen and an accomplished pianist. She loved jewelry, coin collecting, musical theater, and driving her car. What family and friends loved about Evelyn was her kindness, generosity and sharp dry wit that delighted all who knew her. Evelyn lived the last three years of her life in assisted living at the Marquis Place in Concordia, Kansas. Age the age of 89 years, she passed from this life Saturday, July 4, 2015 at her home. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, daughter JaNeane, brother Fred Homolac, and sisters Beatrice Homolac and Lillian Derowitsch. She will be forever remembered by her brother Charles Homolac, Belleville, niece Pat (Roger) Benyshek, Littleton, CO, nephew Jim (Elaine) Derowitsch, GoldBar, WA; other relatives and friends. Recitation of the Rosary was held Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas with graveside service and interment following at St. George Catholic Cemetery rural Munden, Kansas with Deacon Steve Heiman officiating
