Evelyn June Veroda Ward, was born April 3, 1917 in Cuba, Kansas and passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 95 years. She was the daughter of Victor and Anna (Vacha) Veroda. Evelyn graduated from Cuba High School with the Class of 1935. She and Robert (Bob) Ward were married October 13, 1935 and resided in Belleville for most of their lives. Evelyn worked in the Republic County Treasurer's office from 1957 to 1992. She was an active member of Eastern Star Ophal Chapter holding all of their offices including Worthy Matron. Her community activities were many and varied. Evelyn joined the Belleville Presbyterian Church in 1950 and has been an active member over the remaining years. She will be forever remembered by her brother Victor Joy Veroda of OKC; daughter Kathryn Neal of OKC; son Victor Ward and wife Phyllis of Guthrie, OK; five grandchildren: Jill Talkott, Coral Springs, FL, Miki Krigbaum and husband Dan, Bartlesville, OK, Jill Lilly and husband Mark, Clarksburg, WV, Kori Mathis and husband Mike, Stillwater, OK, and Erin Beedle and husband Sean, Colorado Springs, CO; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Victor & Anna; husband Bob in 1981; grandson Jimmie Neal, Jr., and sister-in-law Dorothy Veroda.
