Floyd Eugene Swift, son of Walter and Virginia (Morris) Swift, was born October 22, 1949 at Sacramento, California. He passed from this life Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Republic county Hospital in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 63 years. He lived in Belleville with his mother Virginia and middle brother Elmer. Floyd graduated from Piper High School near Kansas City in 1969. He worked for many years as a janitor for the Leavenworth, Kansas school district. When he became physically disabled, Floyd graduated from a correspondence school for computer technicians. In 1973 Floyd was joined in the Cherokee Nation at a formal pow-wow of all Nations at Horton, Kansas. His Native American name is "Running Deer". He leaves to mourn his mother and two brothers. "Yataha Kemosabi" which means "farewell trusted friend"! We'll meet you again at the campfire in the Sky! Graveside services and interment were held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Belleville City Cemetery with Pastor Mark Imel officiating. These arrangements were handled by Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.
