Francis Joseph Splichal "Frank", 94 of Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away peacefully of natural causes, at his home on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. He was born to Joseph and Josephine (Koralek) Splichal on March 12, 1919 in Munden, Kansas. Frank commented on his last birthday he felt that "fortune had smiled upon him" for he was able to reach his age with all his physical and mental health intact. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Esther Mae Sherman Splichal. Frank was proud to have been Postmaster of Apache Junction back when it was still a small rural town, until he retired. Frank will be missed and remembered fondly by his family and friends worldwide. Graveside services and burial will be 10:00am Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Tabor Cemetery rural Munden, Kansas. There will be no viewing as the casket will remain closed. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas is in charge of these arrangements.
