Gayle Hudson

Gayle Ann Hudson was born on August 25, 1950, in Concordia, Kansas, the daughter of Russell “Rusty” and Agnes Josephine “Jo” (Cooksey) Nelson. Gayle grew up in Courtland, and graduated from Courtland High School, class of 1968. Following high school, Gayle attended Asbury School of Nursing, obtaining her associates degree and Registered Nursing certificate.

Gayle was married to James Hudson on August 18, 1973, at the Ada Lutheran Church, rural Kackley. To this union of 47 years, two girls were born, Kayla and Karey. Gayle was a lifelong member of the Ada Lutheran Church.

Gayle was the administrator of the Belleville Health Care Center, and a member of the Licensed Nursing Home Administrators Association.

Gayle passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska, on December 10, 2020, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 15 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Gayle will be forever remembered by her husband Jim, her daughter Kayla McCartney and her husband Brian of Belleville, their children Dylan and Mia, her daughter Karey Padding and her husband Mark of Andover, their children Gavin, Mari, Gage and Maelyn. Gayle is also survived by her sisters, Linda Nelson of Courtland, and Lynette Engelbert and her husband Jake of Courtland.

Gayle will lie in state at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville for public visitation on Monday, December 14, 2020, from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The family will not be present.

Private Funeral Services will be held at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Following the services, a public graveside service will be held at the Ada Lutheran Cemetery, at 11:30 a.m.

Memorials are requested to the Gayle Hudson Memorial, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Persons attending the services are requested to wear masks or other facial coverings, and to practice social distancing guidelines.

Family and friends unable to attend the services are encouraged to leave memories and express their condolences on the Tribute Wall of Gayle’s obituary page, on the funeral home website.
