Jeffrey Allyn Strnad, son of Shirley Eugene and Jessie Marie (Houdek) Strnad, was born on September 25, 1960 in Topeka, Kansas. Jeff grew up around Scandia, and graduated from Scandia High School. Following high school, Jeff attended Kansas State University, where he majored in Ag. Economics.
Following college, Jeff returned to the Scandia area, where he worked for his dad at Republican Valley Cattle Feeders. Jeff’s true passion was farming and the land. During his lifetime, Jeff worked at United Grain, Nesika Energy and Premium Feeders, and he was very involved in all parts of the business operations.
Jeff was a member of the Church of God, a Worldwide Association, of Wichita, and was involved in many church activities. Jeff’s favorite bible book was Job and its teachings.
Outside of work and church, Jeff had many hobbies, and liked to stay busy. He enjoyed reading, and military history. Jeff also enjoyed flying airplanes, and was a very good pilot. He liked firearms and was an accomplished ammunition reloader, keeping meticulous journals on powders and reload performances. Along with firearms, Jeff loved fireworks, and putting together spectacular fireworks performances at the cabin for family and friends. Jeff also enjoyed working with wood and wood turning, making many wooden bowls.
On Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 21 days, Jeff passed away peacefully at his home, with his wife and son at his bedside.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, and son Alexander Jordan Strnad in 2008.
He will be forever remembered by his wife, Tracy, and son Seth Alexander of the home. His sisters, Chandra Stuchlik (John) of Scandia; Kristine of Salina; Elizabeth (Jeff) Lahodny of Lindsborg, LeAnn Strnad of Glen Elder and Stacy Davis (David) of Elmdale, Kansas. Jeff is also survived by aunts, uncles, many cousins, and a community of friends.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will take place later this year, details are pending and will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials are requested to Meadowlark Hospice or the Republic County Hospital or the Physical Therapy Department of the Republic County Hospital, and may be sent in care of Tibbets-Fischer Funeral Home, PO Box 566, Belleville, Kansas 66935.
