Larry Zink

April 4, 1944 — February 17, 2018

Larry Zink, 73 of Belleville Kansas, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Republic County Hospital. He was born in Larned Kansas to Lloyd and Eleanor (Berglund) Zink (deceased). Larry graduated from Larned High School in 1962, and then attended Fort Hays State University before joining the Army. He met the love of his life Linda Thornton in his time at Fort Hays State, and the two married on September 4, 1966 in Republic, Ks. Larry served three years in the Army and was stationed in Ft. Leonardwood Missouri, Baumholder Germany and El Paso Texas. He lived in several Kansas towns throughout the years including Concordia, Smith Center, Harper, and Belleville.

Larry was a passionate man who enjoyed the challenges of the business world. In his career he worked as a utility manager and then as a City Manager. In his retirement, he enjoyed driving the school bus for the pre-school kids in Harper. Larry was an avid camper, and also loved wood-working.

Larry was extremely loving and proud of his family. His loving wife Linda Zink, of 51 years; his brother Joe Zink (and family) of Larned; his daughter Kristin Heminway (deceased); his daughter Stephanie Mueller and husband Brett of Aurora, Colorado, and two grandsons who were the light of his life – Braeden McCann of Belleville, Ks and Burke Mueller of Aurora, Co; as well as his many loving extended family members and other friends.

Memorial services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Presbyterian Church 405 Cottonwood St, Narka, KS 66960, Pastor Phil Goombi officiating, with a lunch to follow. Family inurnment will be in Belleville city Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Larry’s name to:
