Lois Calkins

Lois Merlene Calkins, daughter of Devere and Luella (Duffey) Wells, was born April 26, 1928 at Rexford, Kansas. She passed from this life Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 82 years. On August 25, 1946 she was married to Glendale Alexander Calkins. They had four sons, Glen Michael, Richard, Brian, and Kevin. Lois was an avid doll collector and liked to bowl. She was den mother for the Boy Scouts when her sons were growing up. Lois loved to read. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband Glen on June 8, 2010. She will be forever remembered by her sister Betty Reagan of Greely, Colorado; her sons and their families: Glen Michael and wife Jackie, their sons Glen, Jr. and Joseph all of Pensecola, Florida; Richard and wife Paula of Belleville, their son Troy (Jana) and children Evan Alexander and Julia Claire of Olathe, KS, daughter Angela Sjogren and children Brianna and Samantha of Concordia, KS; Brian and wife Carol of Milford, their daughter Hope (Paul) Bettes and children Autumn and Thomas James of Wichita, KS, daughter Shannon (Will) Brenneisen and son Justin of Arkansas; Kevin and wife Kathy of Belleville and son Shaun (Lars) of Belleville; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas with Mr. Mark Imel, Central Christian Church, officiating. Family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Rock Pond Improvement Fund.
