Lorna Wilkinson

Lorna Mae Wilkinson was born March 9, 1915 on a farm near Morrowville, Kansas to Daniel and Edna (Taylor) Alwin. She lived her childhood in the Morrowville community attending grade school at Rock school and graduating from Morrowville High School. After graduation, Lorna received her Normal Training and taught three terms of school. In 1935 she was united in marriage to Marion Ernest Wilkinson and to this union three children were born: Daniel Charles, Marion Edward, and Linda Ann. Although she lived most of her life in Kansas, Lorna did live in Rockaway Beach, Missouri for nearly 20 years. Besides being a home maker, she cooked for many years at the Kravemore restaurant in Belleville. For many years, Lorna was active in the Rebecca Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. Reaching the age of 95 years, Lorna passed from this life Friday, May 28, 2010 while a resident of the Belleville Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marion in 1979; sons Dan and Eddie; her daughter Linda Kisby; sisters Ruth Loymeyer and Shirley Boutz; and brothers Vaughn, Max, and Lawrence Alwin. She is survived by her eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Graveside services and interment was held Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Haddam City Cemetery, Haddam, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Haddam Community Club.
