Lottie Marie (Babe) Mach, daughter of Otto & Lottie (Lahodny) Holechek, was born on March 27, 1912 in Narka , Kansas . She passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the Long Term Care Unit of Republic County Hospital at the age of 98 years. Lottie graduated from Narka Rural High School and moved to Belleville soon after graduation to become a nurse's attendant at the Belleville Hospital . She married Joseph L. Mach on January 23, 1932 at Smith Center , Kansas . The couple lived in Seward , Nebraska and Clay Center, Kansas where Joe managed Safeway Food Stores. Their only son, Kaye Allan Mach was born in Clay Center on January 12, 1937. In 1945 they moved to Loveland , Colorado where they started the M. & M. Grocery store. Lottie was the head cashier for the store until they returned to Narka in 1947, where they purchased the Narka General Store, renaming it the M. & M. General Store. In 1964 they moved to Bellflower , California . Lottie became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for several years at a retirement home. In 1974 they retired and returned to Narka. They moved to Belleville in 1997. Lottie was proceeded in death by her parents and her husband, Joe in 2000. She is survived by her son Kaye Allan and his wife Janie and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Tibbetts-Fisher Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on January 20, 2010. A private inurnment will be at National Cemetery , rural Narka , Kansas .
