Marie Myrtle Skucius was born on March 19, 1923 to Thomas and
Regina

. She was baptized April 13, 1923 and confirmed on November 28, 1937. Marie attended and graduated from school in Kackley. On July 21, 1946 Marie was united in marriage to Alvin Skucius at the
Ada
Lutheran
Church
by Kackley and to this union three children were born: Thomas, James, and Diana. She passed form this life on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Long Term Care in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 20 days. Marie worked at the Clover Farm Store, K & W Rexall, and Corner Grill. She enjoyed listening to polka music, gardening, raising chickens, lover her flowers, camping, feeding the birds, and most of all being with her family. She enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alvin in 2004; a sister Madeline Isaacson and a brother Norman Tornquist. She will be greatly missed, but forever remembered by her sister Evelyn Indermill, Wichita, Kansas; sons Tom Skucius and wife Deb, Cuba, Kansas and Jim Skucius and wife Sandy, Sterling, Kansas; daughter Diana Weatherhead and husband Dana, Belleville, Kansas; Eight grandchildren: Trenton & Krystle Skucius, Scott Skucius, Matthew Skucius, William Skucius, Daniel Skucius, Justin Wren, Regina & Oscar Sheetz, and Josh Weatherhead; three great grandchildren: Waylon, Gunnar, and Conner Sheetz; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the
American
Lutheran
Church
in
Belleville
,
Kansas
with Pastor Art Bliese officiating. Burial was in
Tabor
Cemetery
rural
Munden
,
Kansas
. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home,

Kansas
was in charge of these arrangements.
