Marjory R. (Allsman) Peterson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at Stormont Vail HealthCare in Topeka at the age of 92. Her life was a testament to kindness, devotion, and quiet strength, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Marjory (Marge) Ruth Peterson was born on March 28, 1932, in Chester, Nebraska, to Manning L. and B. Marie (Brown) Allsman. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1950 and married Jimmie Lee Peterson on September 10, 1951, a marriage that lasted 67 years. Jim and Marjory later relocated to Riverside, California, before returning to Belleville in the early 1980s. There, Marjory worked as a school bus driver, babysitter, and homemaker, while continuing to care deeply for her family, community, and love for animals.
Marjory was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her husband, Jimmie (2019); infant daughter, Tracey Dawn Peterson (1952); infant son, Harold Jimmie Peterson (1955); brothers Renn Allsman, Gerard “Gerry” Allsman, and Manning “Mike” Allsman; and sisters Patricia Lemmons and Lucy Allsman.
She is survived by her son, Mark Peterson and his wife Tracy of Plano, Texas; her daughter, Monicka Richmeier and her husband Corey of Topeka; her grandchildren, Sarah Peterson of Fort Worth, Texas, Morgan Richmeier of Topeka, and Jaxson Richmeier of Topeka; and her sister, Jane Otott of Belleville.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Belleville City Cemetery.
Marjory’s life was a gift to all who knew her. Though she has left this world, her spirit of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire.
