Mary Emma Chopp, 96, Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Homestead Healthcare Center in Lincoln. She was born May 10, 1914 and raised in Pilsen, Kansas the daughter of James and Rose (Krch) Bosh. She was a graduate of Pilsen High School. Mary was united in marriage to John W. Chopp on May 17, 1944 in Pilsen. They lived in Munden, Kansas until moving to Lincoln. She gave birth to a son Larry in 1946 and daughter Janet in 1952. Mary devoted her life to taking care of Janet, caring for her every hour of every day. She was a long time member of St. John's Catholic Church in Lincoln. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 2001; daughter Janet in 2005; and her brothers Alphonse (Al) and Theodore (Ted). She will be forever remembered by her son Larry and wife Joan of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandson Roger Chopp, Lincoln; granddaughters, spouses, Jennifer & Steve Skala, Omaha, and Lissa & Nate Fellers, Lincoln; great grandchildren, Shelby Chopp, Breanna Skala, and Parker Fellers; sister-in-law Emily Sklenicka; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral mass will be held 4:00pm Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Lincoln. A vigil/rosary service in Belleville will be held 10:30am Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home with Father Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will be following the rosary at St. Katharine Cemetery, rural Belleville, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association. There will be no visitation.
