Pamela Jo (Stotts) Kasl, the daughter of the late Frank Stotts and Darlene Havick, was born on June 20, 1964 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Pam grew up in Glenwood, Iowa, until the eighth grade, and then moved to Harlan, Iowa, and was a 1982 graduate of Harlan Community High School. In 1986, Pam was united in marriage to Robert Kasl of Belleville, Kansas. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1998 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Pam was a very determined woman who had a passion for life; she lived her life to the fullest, never giving up against her battle with cancer. She accumulated many wonderful friends along the way. She was a remarkable and courageous woman who had the strength and will to fight, finding comfort from God. She was an amazing mother, wife, and friend, and found no greater pleasure than seeing her children graduate from high school and start their journey in life. Pam is survived by her husband, Rob, and children, John Coenen of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Nicki Kasl & Austin Kasl of Belleville, Kansas; mother, Darlene Havick & step-father Jim Havick of Shenandoah, Iowa; step-mother, Myra Stotts of Riverton, IA, sister Julie & brother-in-law Roger McQueen of Shenandoah, IA, sister Diane & brother-in-law Dan Dix of Humboldt, IA, sister Louri & brother-in-law Steve Petsche of Council Bluffs, IA; brother, Doug Stotts of Farragut, IA; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kasl of Belleville, KS; brother & sister-in-law, Ed & Jan Kasl of Phoenix, AZ; step-brothers Scott (Brenda) Havick and Shane (Amy) Havick of Des Moines, IA; step-sisters Cindy Kruger, Auburn, NE, Wendy Rowell, Brownville, NE, and Shelly Dettman, Stella, NE; and many nieces and nephews. Pam is preceded in death by her father, Franklin Stotts & her mother and father-in-law, Harold & Sylvia Kasl. Pam was a member of the American Lutheran Church where she served on the church council as treasurer. She was also a member of PEO, Chapter BM, and had a wonderful job at New Century Bank where she was the internal auditor. "Come unto me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." I believe in the sun, even when it doesn't shine. I believe in love, even when it isn't shown. I believe in God, even when He is silent. "He gives strength to those who are tired and more power to those who are weak." Isaiah 40:29 Funeral services will be 1:16pm, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Republic County High School Gymnasium, Belleville, Kansas with Pastors Delvin Strecker and Frank Pakarek officiating. Burial will be in the Belleville City Cemetery. A friendship gathering and prayer vigil will be held Friday 7:00pm at the American Lutheran Church, Belleville. Memorials may be made to the Pamela Kasl Memorial. Following the interment, the Kasl family will greet friends and relatives for coffee fellowship at the American Lutheran Church.
