Rosa Lee Smith passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday January 27th 2010 at the age of 75 at her home in Aurora Colorado. Rose Lee was born to this earth on June 12th 1934 in Rayville, Louisiana to Leonard O'Neal and Irene Creath O'Neal. She graduated from Bluefield College Bluefield, Virginia in 1954 with a degree in Liberal Arts. After retiring from US West in 1998, she pursued her appreciation for the beauty in this world by becoming an accomplished quilter which she shared freely with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Rosa Lee was married to Jay W. Smith on November 13,1954. To this union were born four boys: Bryan O., Harry K., Jeffry W., and Tom L. Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents; and in 1988 her husband Jay W. Smith. She is survived by her sons, Bryan O. Smith and wife Peggy of Aurora, CO., Harry K. Smith of Aurora, CO., Jeffry W. Smith and wife Pam of Belleville, KS., and Tom L. Smith and wife Paula of East Lake OH. Granddaughters: Heather Palo of Grand Junction, CO., Michelle Woodward-Smith & Kodi Smith of Belleville, Heather MacKay and family of Colorado Springs, CO, Maili Methe of Aurora, CO. Grandsons: Michael Smith of Belleville, Derek Methe and family of Tampa, Florida and 6 great grand-kids. Brother: Charles O'Neal of Stafford, VA. Sisters: Elsie Sharon and husband Wayne of Omaha, Neb/Marshall, VA. and Dorothy Johnston and husband Ernest of Lilburn, GA.; many nieces and nephews and many other loved ones. Memorials can be made to the following: The Ronald Mc Donald House, Susan G. Koman Foundation, or the American Heart Association. Funeral services were held Monday, February 1, 2010 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas with Pastor Harvey Farnsworth officiating. Burial was in the Belleville City Cemetery.
