Verl Larson

Verl S. Larson, 87, Belleville, Kansas passed from this life on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville.  He was born October 1, 1928 in Jamestown, Kansas to August and Ella (Lundstedt) Larson.  He left school to help with the farm. Later he completed his GED and went on to work as an engineering tech for the Kansas Department of Transportation where he was employed for over 40 years.  On October 18, 1952 Verl was married to Eloise Johnson in Concordia, Kansas and they had one daughter, Jean Ann.  Verl was an active supporter of the Belleville community. In his younger years he was active with the Jaycees and worked for many years with the Kansas Jr. Miss pageant.  He loved gardening, bird watching, being outdoors and the Kansas City Royals.  Verl will be forever remembered by his wife Eloise of their home; daughter Jean Ann and her husband Robert Jaramillo of Carrollton, Texas, granddaughters Danielle Larson-Jaramillo of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Natalie Larson-Jaramillo of Austin, Texas, sister Virginia and her husband Ed Smith of Bellevue, Nebraska, sister-in-law Phyllis Larson of Belleville, several nephews as well as many friends.  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the American Lutheran Church of Belleville.  Burial will be in the Belleville City Cemetery.  Memorials in honor of Verl may be made to the Republic County Hospital Long Term Care Center or the American Lutheran Church of Belleville.  Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas is assisting the Larson family with these arrangements.
