Virlene Elenor Hale, daughter of Marty and Rosie (Benda) Ryan, was born July 21, 1932 at Colby, Kansas. She passed from this life Friday, June 1, 2012 while a resident of the Belleville Health Care Center at the age of 79 years. Virlene grew up in Colby and was married there to Theodore E. Hale on August 26, 1952. To this union nine children were born and survive her passing. Virlene and Theodore moved to Concordia, Kansas where she was a wonderful homemaker, mother and great grandmother. Theodore died on July 14, 1997. Following his death, Virlene moved to Belleville where she lived until her death. Virlene was a great baby sitter for her family and friends. She loved there family gatherings and especially taking in the county fairs and going on outings with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and infant brothers Gary and Lynn. Virlene will be forever remembered by her daughters, Sharon (Ron West) Morrison, Beloit, Peggy (Gilbert) Walbridge, Concordia, Deanna (Cary Barry) Bleick and Bonnie (Shannon) White of Belleville; sons, Duane Hale, Manhattan, Fred Hale, Beloit, Bobby Hale and Scott Hale of Concordia, and Jerry (Betty) Hale, Beloit; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister Maxine Gaines, Cumby, TX; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia, Kansas with Reverend Tessa Zehring officiating. Burial was in Jamestown City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Belleville Health Care Center, American Diabetes or American Cancer Foundations. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas was in charge of these arrangements.
