Elaine Yanish

Elaine Rose Yanish was born on November 10, 1930, in Oakton, South Dakota, to Ray and Lona (Johnson) Stickler. She passed away on November 17, 2019, at the Belleville Health Care Center in Belleville, at the age of 89 years and 7 days.

Elaine married Robert W. Yanish on February 10, 1948, in Midland, South Dakota, and to this union of 65 years, five children were born. Elaine and Robert moved to Courtland, Kansas, in 1958. Elaine worked as a waitress, and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting and fishing. During the holidays, Elaine enjoyed making candy and goodies for her family and friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert in 2013; infant son J.D.; son Roger; infant daughter Mary Ann, and daughter Diane Lobdell in 2013. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, brothers Harold, Duane and Gary, and her sister Edna.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Shirley Veach and her husband Gary of Topeka; grandchildren Kelly, Roger and Kevin Veach; Jennifer Jones, Brad and Craig Lobdell; and her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Carold Stickler.

Elaine’s wishes were for immediate cremation with no visitation, and a private family inurnment at Courtland Cemetery.
