When planning a service, you have many options available to you, and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. Memorialization services, visitations, cemetery services, the cemetery monument and other means of paying tribute to our loved ones are vitally important in the grief and healing journey. We have many options available to our families to honor their loved one, in very personal and meaningful ways. Below is an overview of our services. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you would like to set up an appointment to meet and further discuss the options that are available to you and your family. Together, we will create a meaningful and personalized service that honors, celebrates and remembers your loved one.
With a traditional funeral service and earth burial, we will come to the place of death as soon as requested, and transfer your loved one to the funeral home, where embalming will occur as soon as practical. We will then meet with you to arrange the funeral service, including selecting a burial casket, the outer burial container (vault), and other memorialization options. The traditional funeral service is normally held at either a church, the funeral home, graveside in the cemetery, or other place of your choosing, with burial in a cemetery following the conclusion of the funeral service.
Caskets selection is a very personal decision, and can be influenced by many factors, including personal wishes and tastes, and economic considerations. Caskets typically are either wood or metal, with the price of the casket determined by the type and grade of material used in construction, including the type of interior fabric and construction. Many caskets will include personalization options, including custom interior lid panels and interchangeable outer corners.
Embalming is a method in which various chemicals and treatments are performed to your loved one, to help preserve the body for public viewing. Embalming is not required for a casketed burial, but it is required if a public viewing is desired. Additionally, an outer burial container is required by most cemeteries for a casket burial, however, you are not required to purchase one, if your cemetery does not require one.
With a cremation service, we will come to the place of death as soon as requested, and transfer your loved one to the funeral home. We will then meet with you to arrange the cremation, and review and complete the necessary authorizations for cremation. During that arrangement conference, we will discuss memorial services, including selecting an urn and other memorialization options. Following the cremation process, your loved one will be placed into the selected urn, and either returned to you, or we will safeguard your loved one until the memorial service.
The memorial service can be held at a church, the funeral home, graveside in the cemetery, or other place of your choosing. Following the memorial service, the urn can either be buried in the cemetery, scattered over a special place, or remain with the family for burial at another date.
Urns are available in many different shapes, styles, colors and can be highly personalized.
Most cemeteries will not require a burial vault for the urn to be placed in. If one is required, we have several options for you to choose from. We also have various cremation keepsake options and keepsake jewelry options for families to choose from.
We also provide our families with an option for both a traditional service, where your loved one is embalmed and placed in a casket for public viewing and a service, with cremation following the funeral service.
Remembering a loved one’s life and honoring their memories is an important step in the healing and grief journey. We strive to provide the opportunity for our families to spend time in a relaxed atmosphere to share memories and fellowship with family and friends, and receiving the caring support of others during visitations. A viewing of the loved one in their casket can evoke strong emotions that can be more easily expressed and shared when surrounded by others who also share those feelings. From simple to elaborate, our funeral home is committed to helping families create a personalized and meaningful tribute for their loved one.
